Bone Natural
Key Covers
Bone Key Tops - have a nominal thickness of 2.5 mm and will finish to about 2 mm. They are cut from bleached fine grained beef bone. It is advisable to lightly sand the surface that is to be glued in order to remove any residue from the processing, otherwise the bone might pop off. Yellow carpenters glue like Titebond works well. The surface opposite the glue surface should be lightly wetted when gluing to prevent tension buildup. The bone pieces come as head and tail or as one piece.
Heads and Tails - We stock heads and tails of certain standard dimensions listed below, but custom dimensions may be ordered. Allow about 6 weeks for custom dimensions. A 50% non refundable deposit is required for custom orders.
One Piece Bone - One piece bone naturals are 24 mm wide and need to be cut out for sharps after gluing onto the keys.

Note:
When ordering 30 or more heads and tails, we supply two of the tails as wide tails unless otherwise specified. Thus no need to order wide tails separately.
Antique Bone - At times we accumulate bone pieces of a lesser grade which are listed at special prices under “Antique Bone”. These bone pieces may have one or more of the following irregularities:
Deviation from stated thickness, which may vary from piece to piece.
Defects on one side of the bone which will not show when the piece is glued down.
Areas of coarser bone structure and pores.
Areas of “greasiness” imbedded in the bone.
