Coupler Dogs
Hinged Coupler Dog - not an historical part, but useful in two manual harpsichords that are available to inexperienced players who might abuse the coupler. The spring loaded coupler dog will fling out of the way rather than break off when the coupler is engaged while a key is depressed. The dog is meant to be glued into a shallow slot in the key lever. The stop is included, the spring is not.
French Coupler Dog - This historical part is meant to be pressed into a hole in the key lever using a jig. Don’t try to hammer them in as they will not go in straight and line up neatly. If you specify the length from top to shoulder, we will select a dog of the appropriate length. Available with tapered and non-tapered sides. The tapered dogs have fine sanded faces. The non-tapered dogs are available fine sanded or rough cut.
