Sheep Skin—Soft sheep skin for use as layer between damper and damper block on fortepianos to help with aligning the damper with the string. Also good on hammerheads. Approximately 1 mm thick. The firmer, somewhat thinner skin is good for bushing key buttons.

Chamois—Oil tanned sheep skin (with outer skin removed) is used on damper jacks on fortepianos as cover for damper wedges and as layer between damper and damper block to help with aligning the damper with the string. Chamois is available in two thicknesses, medium (0.75 to 1 mm) and thick (1.2 to 1.5 mm).

Packages of 1/3 sq ft in 1 to 5 pieces.

Sheep skin includes the outer smooth layer of skin, chamois does not.
