Keyboard Layouts
These plans can be used to lay out key blanks for some keyboard instruments. One should keep in mind (as with all plans) that, since the layouts are printed on paper, they may deviate a small amount from the ideal dimensions (typically about 1/32” over 4 octaves). It is up to the builder to deal with this problem.
6011 Keyboard Layout, 6 15/62” per octave
For keyboards with mostly straight keys, like in harpsichords, most virginals and fortepianos.
6012 Keyboard Layout, 6 1/4” per octave
For keyboards with mostly straight keys, like in harpsichords, most virginals and fortepianos.
