Soundboard Crack Scrapers and Shims

A soundboard crack scraper is used to open up cracks so shims can be glued into them. The wide scraper opens up a crack for 32 degree shims, the narrow scraper opens up a crack for 16 degree shims. Use the wide scraper on thick soundboards and wide cracks, the narrow one on thinner soundboards (harpsichords). Each scraper comes with three 8” long spruce shims.

Extra shims are available separately,  in 12” and 30” lengths. Shims are 3/8" deep for wide scraper, 1/4" for narrow scraper.
