Round Punches
Round Punches - These come in two versions, with outside bevel or inside bevel. Punches (#8086) with outside bevel (like typical leather punches) cut clean discs, but leave a distorted edge on the hole left behind. Punches (#8087) with inside bevel cut holes with sharp edges, but distort the edge of the disk cut out. These punches have an ejector pin to push out the disk that has been cut out. They are hardened for long life. Punches with outside bevel are available in diameters 0.040" (1 mm) to 0.400" (10 mm), and punches with inside bevel in diameters 0.060" (1,5 mm) to 0.500" (12,5 mm). Larger punches can be made, but are more expensive. Specify diameter when ordering, we can come to within 0.005".
Suggested uses: Punches with inside bevel for cutting round hole in parchment roses or round holes in felt, leather or paper punchings; punches with outside bevel for cutting round felt, leather or paper punchings.

Fingernail Punch
< Return to Punches
Fingernail Punches - These punches are obtained from round punches by grinding away a portion of the punch so they cut 3/4, 1/2, 1/3, or 1/4 of an ark. They come with outside bevel (#8088) or inside bevel (#8089) and are hardened, but have no ejector pin. Sizes available are the same as for round punches. Specify diameter and cutting arc when ordering.
Suggested uses: Cutting arcs in parchment roses (the bevel should be on the waste side of the cut).
