Voss Iron Wire - A low carbon uncoated wire of low tensile strength, used in historic keyboard instruments.
Diameters: .008 (0.20mm), .009 (0.23mm), .010 (0.25mm), .011 (0.28mm), .012 (0.30mm), .013 (0.33mm), .014 (0.35mm), .016 (0.40mm), .018 (0.45mm)
Bulk coils (minimum 2 lb) and bulk spools ranging in weight from 5 to 10 lb are available for this wire, priced per lb.
Tensile Strength - depending on diameter, minimal specifications (actual numbers may be up to 30,000 PSI higher): 180,000 PSI (12650 kg/sq cm)
Maximum recommended scaling is 14 (36cm) for c at a pitch of A415, and up to 13.5 (34cm) at A440.
